Arts Week Schedule

Sunday, September 17

11AM-4PM -- ARTFUSiON Festival

Join us at The Annex on Sunday, September 17 from 11-4 for our 13th Annual ARTFUSiON Festival. We'll have jugglers, hula hoopers and performers of all kinds, crafts and activities for the kids, plus we'll have about a dozen artists and artisans selling their delightful work. Admission is free but donations are happily accepted.

Monday, September 18

9:30AM-12PM -- Studio Time

Rosemary Norman will be in The Annex working on her latest painting. Bring your own project and you can create in our studio, too.

1:30AM-3:30PM -- Seniors Art

Our monthly Seniors Art group continues with a brand new project for September.

7PM-8PM -- Youth Mystery Game at the Mount Pearl Library

Ready to solve a mystery? Join the team of teenaged sleuths at the Mount Pearl Library to hear the statements of our suspects and solve the crime.

Tuesday, September 19

10AM-11AM -- Get Messy

Bring your preschoolers to the Annex for some playdoh and fingerpaint fun. The best part? You can leave the mess behind! We'll clean it up. 

10:30AM-11:30AM -- Stop Thinking and Write (writing class at the Mount Pearl Library)

Do you have ideas for stories, articles, or, blog posts but you can't seem to get started? Writer Christine Hennebury can help you jump over, duck under, or sidestep those blocks so you can get your words on paper. Through a combination of easy writing exercises and creativity coaching, you will find more confidence in your own writing ability and be eager to get started on your word count.

1:30PM-3:00PM -- Writing Coaching Session with Christine Hennebury

Bring your ideas, or a piece of writing you are working on and our resident creativity coach will help you find your way forward with it. Writers of all levels of experience are welcome.

7:30PM-9:30PM -- Stories Told

Join singer/songwriter Chris LeDrew, author Trudy Morgan-Cole, storyteller Karen Carroll and more to celebrate all the different ways we can share our stories.

Wednesday, September 20

10:30AM-11AM -- Storytime for Preschoolers

Join us for a quick storytelling session at the Mount Pearl library! 

1:30AM-4PM -- Studio Time at The Annex

Artist Debbie O'Rielly will be art journaling and crafting at the Annex, grab your current project and join her!

7:30PM-10PM -- Jam Session

Grab an instrument and join our joyful cacophony. This Jam Session is not about perfection, it's about having fun with music. 

Thursday, September 21

10AM-11AM -- Nia dance class with Elaine Dunphy

Get moving and have all kinds of fun as Elaine guides you through the whimsical and enjoyable art of Nia dance.

4PM-5PM -- Storytelling Class at The Annex with Christine Hennebury

Are you curious about storytelling but you aren't sure how to get started? Join storyteller Christine Hennebury for this introductory class and she'll share some ideas, tips, and practices that will help you take that curiosity to the next step. All ages welcome. No previous experience necessary!

7PM-10PM -- Creative Brainstorming Session

This is an experiment! We want to have a group of creative people in a variety of disciplines get together at the Annex with some snacks. We'll each talk about our current project/ideas and the others contribute some ideas or resources to encourage each other and cheer the project on. Are you in?

Friday, September 22

9:30AM-12PM -- Studio Time at The Annex

Visual Artist Katie Little will be drawing and painting at The Annex, why not bring along your visual art or crafting project and join her?

3:30PM-4:30PM -- Kids Mystery Game

Something has gone missing and we need some intrepid kid detectives to solve the mystery and help us find it. Join us at the library and get your brain in the game.

7PM-10PM -- Tacos and Karaoke (Ages 13-18) at The Annex

This event is exactly what it sounds like. We've got a Karaoke machine and a bunch of tacos, we need you to bring your willingness to sing and an ability to snack. See you there!

Saturday, September 23

10AM-1PM -- Write-in/Draw-in/Craft-in

Creating can be lonely work! If you'd like some creative company, join us at The Annex and we'll all work on our projects together. 

1:30PM-2:30PM -- Family Board Games

We've got singing games, acting games, imagination games, and drawing games. Round up a few friends or family members and meet us at The Annex for some fun!

7PM -- Closing Reception/"Death's Door" Mystery Game at The Annex. TICKETS $20

Round out your Arts Week fun and help raise money for AAMP by joining us for our closing reception and mystery game! We'll have a variety of snacks and some very sneaky suspects. See you there!
